If I fell from the sky from a thousand long miles
Then would you be right there so to catch me?
If I wandered the forests and lost my own path,
Then would you be right there so to find me?
If I sailed far away to a strange foreign land,
Then would you be right there to farewell me?
If I made it to port, a different, changed man,
Then would you be right there, so to greet me?
If we part ways today, meet again far from now,
Would we meet as if no time had passed us?
If we swapped all our stories of travels around,
Would we heed their sweet calls to romance us?
And at sunset’s long sleep when we bid good farewell
Would we mourn our pained souls, torn asunder?
Now our lives are just matches, burn fast through this life~
Praying just to strike light with each other.
This is the sort of thing I’d love to set to music. Beautifully written. Happy travels!

Oh, that would be fantastic. I’m partial to the cello, but what do you think?

Ha! Cello’s got a beautiful tone, true. But for a wandering song, I lean toward mandolin. It’s easier to carry on adventures. 🙂
